Add unique texture and old-fashioned charm to your succulent collection with Sempervivum arachnoideum ‘Forest Frost’. This historic garden favorite forms small rosettes of apple-green succulent foliage covered in fine, silvery hairs. The delicate hairs connect the tips of the leaves, creating a beautiful cobweb-like appearance that makes this variety truly stand out.
As the seasons change, ‘Forest Frost’ can shift in color and appearance, making it a fascinating addition to rock gardens, containers, and succulent displays. In summer, it produces charming pastel pink, star-shaped flowers.
Sempervivum are commonly known as Hens & Chicks. The mother plant, or “Hen,” produces offsets called “Chicks” that quickly multiply and fill in around the original rosette. Like other Sempervivum, the flowering mother plant is monocarpic and will naturally die after blooming, while the surrounding Chicks continue to grow and carry on the display.

Hens & Chicks are easy-care, drought-tolerant succulents that thrive in well-drained, gravelly soil. Avoid wet soil, especially during winter, as consistently wet conditions can cause the roots and rosettes to rot.
They are excellent for rock gardens, containers, troughs, and small crevices or spaces with limited soil. Once established, they require very little water and are wonderfully low maintenance.
A unique, hardy succulent with a beautiful cobweb-like texture and plenty of personality—‘Forest Frost’ is a fantastic choice for rock gardens and succulent collections!
