Hosta ‘Brim Cup’ (Plantain Lily) is a small clump-forming perennial with thick, ovate, slightly cupped, dark green leaves that are approximately 6 inches long. These leaves have a blue cast and wide, irregular chartreuse margins that fade to creamy-white. In midsummer, bell-shaped white flowers appear above the foliage on scapes, reaching up to 18 inches in height. This hosta is slow to increase, making it an excellent choice for growing in containers on the patio, where its striking variegated leaves can be admired. It performs best in part shade to full shade and prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Keep it sheltered from cold, dry winds. Hosta ‘Brim Cup’ is perfect for shade gardens, mixed beds, borders, city gardens, cottage gardens, and containers. Be cautious of slugs and snails, which could damage the attractive foliage.
