Lysmachia 'Beaujolais' Purple Fringed Loosestrife, 1 Quart Pot Live Plant

Lysimachia atropurpurea ‘Beaujolais’ (Purple Loosestrife) is a clump-forming, upright, and sturdy perennial boasting attractive deep wine-red flower spikes on long slender stems from late spring to early fall. The foliage is ornamental with its waxy rosettes of silver-green, narrow, wavy-edged leaves, up to 4 inches long (10 cm). This short-lived plant works well in borders, rain gardens, and containers, and it also makes excellent cut flowers. It grows up to 16-20 inches tall (40-50 cm) and 14-16 inches wide (35-40 cm). Lysimachia atropurpurea ‘Beaujolais’ performs best in full sun or part shade, in humus-rich, moist soils that do not dry out in summer. It is generally pest and disease-free. After flowering, it’s a good idea to cut it back.
