Sempervivum Magnificum earns its name — bold, symmetrical rosettes of deep purple to reddish-purple leaves with a waxy sheen that intensifies in full sun. One of the most striking Hens & Chicks varieties you can grow, and one of the toughest.

Seasonal Notes:

Sempervivum succulents grow most actively in spring and summer. Incredibly frost-hardy, they overwinter happily under a blanket of snow. Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.

The mother plant ("hen") sends off offsets ("chicks") that can be left to form a beautiful carpet of rosettes or removed to share and transplant. Drought-tolerant and deer resistant. Do not fertilize.
