Strawberry Frost Burnet - Sanguisorba Tenuifolia Plant - 1 gallon pot

A delightful rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant, originally from Japan, that catches the eye with its elegant appearance.  

Appearance:

1. • Stems: Tall, gently arching stems.
   • Catkins: Soft, frosted pink catkins.
   • Foliage: Bright green leaves.
   • Height: Approximately 1.2 meters (4 feet).
   • Flowering Period: June to September.

2. Ideal Planting Companions:

   • Grasses: Looks great when planted alongside ornamental grasses.
   • Scabious and Gaura: Pair it with these summer flowerers.
   • Pollinators: Loved by bees, butterflies, and hoverflies.

3. Care Tips:

   • Encourage strong, compact growth with a mid-season chop
   • Likes moist but well-draining soil
   • Divide plants in spring or autumn.
   • Divide sanguisorba in spring, when the plant is growing away quickly.
   • Cut back stems close to ground level from late February through the end of March.
