Bronze Pastel' is an early 1953 British variety from Nicholas Moore. A descendent of S. marmoreum, 'Bronze Pastel' is quite small but beautifully proportioned with a different colour that is especially prominent during the late spring and summer months. Deservedly one of the most popular sempervivums we offer.

Sempervivum 'Bronze Pastel' (Moore): A gorgeous, metallic hybrid of S. marmoreum erythraeum x S. 'Brunneifolium'. Through the seasons it shows a unique combination of bronze, red, gold, and green tones. Its pointed leaves are lined with cilia.

Hens Chicks need plenty of outdoor sunlight to show their best colors and maintain a tight rosette form. They thrive in gritty, well-draining soils and pots with drainage holes. They produce new offsets or "chicks" on stolons. These chicks can be left to form tidy clusters or removed to share and transplant.

Sempervivum do most of their growing in the spring and summer, and will thrive with weekly watering. They are incredibly frost hardy and will happily overwinter under an insulating blanket of snow. Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.
