Seasonal Notes:
Sempervivum tectorum is one of the most cold-hardy succulents in existence — it has been grown on European rooftops for centuries as a good-luck charm and fire deterrent. It overwinters happily under snow and thrives where other plants struggle. Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.
The mother plant ("hen") sends off offsets ("chicks") that can be left to form tidy clusters or removed to share and transplant. Drought-tolerant and deer resistant. Do not fertilize. Space 6–8" apart.
Suggested Use: Rock gardens, rooftop gardens, trough gardens, wall crevices, dry gardens, edging, strawberry jars, and containers.
