"Gold Nugget" is lovely rosette that shifts between green and yellow gold tones with hightlights of red when in full winter color. This variety deepens to a green in summer. 

Like most Hen & Chicks Plants, "Gold Nugget" needs plenty of outdoor sunlight to show their best colors and maintain a tight rosette form. They thrive in gritty, well-draining soils and unglazed pots with drainage holes. They also produce new offsets or "chicks" on stolons. These chicks can be left to form tidy clusters or removed to transplant or share with friends and fellow gardeners.

Sempervivum do most of their growing in the spring and summer and will thrive with weekly watering allowing soil to dry between waterings. They are incredibly frost hardy and will happily overwinter under an insulating blanket of snow. Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.

NOTE: PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS. GOLD NUGGETS ARE NOT THIS COLOR ALL YEAR LONG. THEY TURN THIS COLOR DURING THE WINTER MONTHS IN THEIR OWN TIMING. WE CANNOT MAKE THEM TURN THIS BRIGHT YELLOW COLORING. IF YOU DECIDE TO ORDER A GOLD NUGGET, AND IT IS NOT "THE PLANTS" TIME TO BE YELLOW YET, THE PLANT WILL ARRIVE GREEN. IT WILL TURN THIS WHEN IT IS GOOD AND READY TO DO SO IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. ANY OTHER TIME OF YEAR, IT WILL ARRIVE GREEN OR GREENISH.. HOWEVER IT WILL TURN JUST LIKE THE PICTURE LOOKS. IF YOU CAN NOT UNDERSTAND THAT NATURE HAS ITS OWN TIMING, PLEASE DO NOT ORDER THIS PLANT AT ALL. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE AMAZING PLANT, BUT IT IS NOT YELLOW AND ORANGE IN COLOR UNTIL WINTER TIME WHEN IT WANTS TO BE.

I will have to tell you that these Gold Nuggets really do turn this color. It is hard to believe it is real, the color is so bright and fantastic. I sell these in my garden center and put them on the front check out table, people see them and think it is not real because the color is so amazing. Nobody has any problem paying the high price for these beautiful gems. They take your breath away. My ALL TIME FAVORITE Sempervivum. This is a nice healthy beautiful plant and you will not be disappointed!
