Perennials are plants that live for several years or more. 

Some plants are known as woody perennials and these are plants that have above-ground woody stems - like trees and shrubs. 

Others are herbaceous perennials and they die back every year to the ground just to pop back up in the spring. 

Some plants are perennials in warmer climates but annuals in colder climates. We try to make note of any of those plants but also just check their zones and compare to your own.
