Among the easiest plants to grow, Hens- and- Chicks tolerate heat, drought and neglect in style. Useful in rock gardens, container garden of all types, rooftop garden and rock walls.
This selection, "Hopewell"", has large-sized rosettes with pointy leaves of bright jade green. The plants get a pretty red wine color to the leaves in spring and through most of the summer. Remove small rosettes to start new plants at any time! Hen and chicks (also known as hen-and-chickens, or hen-and-biddies in the American South) is a common name for a group of small succulent plants belonging to the flowering plant family Crassulaceae, native to Europe and northern Africa. They grow close to the ground with leaves formed around each other in a rosette.
