Sempervivum ‘Leneca’ is a striking houseleek with gorgeous, moody-red rosettes and a delicate silvery fringe. This beautiful European Sempervivum changes color throughout the seasons, shifting from raspberry red to deep maroon, burgundy, purple, and even nearly black, often with hints of green.
Its low, clumping growth habit makes ‘Leneca’ an excellent choice for rock gardens, containers, troughs, and even small spaces or crevices with limited soil. As it grows, it produces offsets, or “chicks,” that form attractive colonies and beautiful clusters over time.

Easy-Care Hens & Chicks
Sempervivums thrive in gritty, well-draining soil and containers with drainage holes. Avoid standing water and overly wet conditions, especially during winter, as this can cause rot.
Once established, ‘Leneca’ is drought tolerant and requires very little water. Allow the soil to dry between waterings.
Like other Hens & Chicks, Sempervivum ‘Leneca’ is monocarpic. The mature “Hen” eventually sends up a flower stalk and blooms before naturally dying. But don't worry—the “Chicks” continue growing and fill in the space, creating a beautiful colony that carries on for years.
In summer, ‘Leneca’ can produce delicate white flowers that attract bees, adding another layer of interest to this already beautiful succulent.
🌱 An excellent choice for rock gardens, succulent collections, containers, and anyone who loves unique, color-changing hardy succulents!
